Arabic Placement Test for Recent applicants to IUoMM

The admissions department of The Islamic University of Al-Madinah Al-Manawarah announced on twitter the dates for the Arabic test for those who applied to the University recently. See tweet here


Arabic Language Placement Test will be held on:

In the summer of 2021 the admissions department put out an admission guide, and it stated that an Arabic Language test would be carried out for the applicants between 16th December 2021 to 4th January 2022. However this did not happen, (and Allah knows best).

The tests with take place online on Saturday 26th February 2022. There are four time slots (see table above) and they are done by the nationality you applied with.

The exams times are mentioned in the time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (GMT +3 hours) Please see this link for the current time in KSA: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/saudi-arabia/medina

For British applicants, the exam will start on 16:00 on Saturday afternoon 26/02/2022.

There is an opportunity for those who missed the exam to do it two days later on Monday 28th of February 2022. It is strongly advised to take your exam on the Saturday and not to choose to go for the test on the Monday. Only go for the Monday test if you could not do it on the Saturday.

The test will be up to 85 minutes long.

The admissions department put the following guidelines on twitter (we have added some clarifications below it to help):

The Guidelines for the Arabic Language Placement Exam Entry – Theoretical Track (Those applying for Islamic Studies) - Scholarship Applicant for the Year 1443AH (August 2022 start)

  • The exam duration is (85 minutes) online, it commences in accordance with the exact specified dates and categories shown in the schedule above. The student needs adequate internet access and a quiet and suitable environment for the exam.

  • Participation in the exam is a condition to qualify for final admission screening, and any applicant who did not partake in the exam will be disqualified.

  • The exam is to be conducted once and when it starts, it cannot be stopped or repeated another time.

  • The applicant for admission should be the same person participating in the exam, and no one else should do the exam on his behalf, in case otherwise occurs, the applicant will be legally responsible for such action.

  • Usage of assisting translation software in the exam is disallowed.

  • The Arabic Language Placement Exam is meant to assist you to determine your level of competency in Arabic language and to measure your ability to study directly at the bachelor's level, or whether you have to learn Arabic language first in the Islamic University.

  • In order to participate in the exam, student needs to enter his scholarship application number in the place of (username and also enter the same scholarship application number in the place of (password).

It is advised to try and sign in before Saturday to familiarise yourself with the site and make sure you can sign in without issue. You should be ready for the exam half an hour before the time so you can deal with any technical issues before hand.
